Alaska 2026 Day 7
THIS time, we weren’t having a couples massage while in Glacier Bay so we actually got to see a bunch of glaciers.
They were cool. Most impressive. Took a zillion photos.
One less than awesome part was that a Glacier National Park ranger came aboard to narrate what we would see. And mention Global Warming’s effect on glaciers (bad), mountain goats (bad), the weather (bad). Bad, bad, bad.
Yeah, Ranger Ruinous, we get it. Global Warming = Bad. This isn’t exactly news.
But as I said, it was an impressive sight.
After taking the hours long slow tour of the bay, the ship started southward.
One really unpleasant aspect of our trip so far? Children/teens. Who were pretty feral : running around and being very loud.
Yes, there must have been quiet, well-behaved [non-American] children. We didn’t notice them. As is Right and Proper.
But the running up and down the halls, banging on walls and decks, and the loud screaming really got under Wendi’s skin.
She was positive the source of the childish yowling was the cabin directly above ours and finally threw her hiking boot at the ceiling.
The memory of said boot bouncing off the ceiling and smacking her in the face?
Priceless.
And one she laughed about so it’s safe to record in this digital form.
We are both in agreement that our next cruise: when and wherever it may be, will be an adult’s only. I hear that’s a Virgin option.

After laying down the (facial) smack down, we decided to go gambling. Which involved waiting till the ship got a certain distance away from shore. Neither of us won big or small at the slot machines but we can say we did it.
After some downtime in the cabin, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at La Bistro. It was Wendi’s second lobster dinner of trip so Alaska Cruise’26 is officially successful. I also enjoyed my pork chop. ( baiseur de porcs, maybe?)
An excellent dinner can make up for a whole lot of little of obnoxious little shits so we went to bed happy.
